Smaller projects may follow a shorter process, but most larger projects follow a similar process:
1 – Research & Brief
We start each project by collecting the necessary information to form the brief. This may be done via email, phone, or meetings as required.
For web and branding projects, we typically use questionnaires to collect the standard information before we chat or meet.
2 – First Visuals
We then provide first visuals – PDFs indicating a number of design choices. Typically we’ll suggest 3-4 possible styles which would be appropriate to the project.
For web projects, we typically only include a homepage at this stage, as this is sufficient to give the feel of the site.
You’ll then consider and decide which approach you prefer.
3 – Second Visuals
We’ll then continue to develop the selected design, through further iterations until we and you are satisfied with the design. For websites, we will now include more interior page designs.
We’ll again provide you with PDFs to review.
Projects usually go through 1-3 rounds of second visuals as we confirm the final design.
4 – Build
For smaller projects, the second visuals may encompass the whole project, but for larger projects, we then complete any remaining work on the project.
For websites, we then build the site; for larger print projects, we’ll complete the typesetting, and finalise image choices.
If a photo-shoot is required it will be completed at this stage if it has not been completed previously.
5 – Demo / Proof
For websites, we then deliver a working demo for you to check before the site is made live.
For print projects, we provide a final proof for you to sign off before sending to print.
6 – Final Deliverables
We then deliver the final items as required depending on the project – branding files, printed items, making a website live, etc.
7 – Invoice
Once all the work is complete, and you’re happy with it, we’ll invoice. (For larger projects we sometimes invoice in stages.)
